After many years of preparation and carefully considering the pursuit of my intellectual and creative interests, I embraced the life of the scholar, writer and adventurer. However, under extreme duress to employ my skills and abilities in "the real world," my resolve wavered and my authenticity began to diminish.
As time passed, my total loss of identity and alienation neared completion due to my preoccupation in achieving goals that I increasingly deemed worthless. Finally, I passively accepted defeat when I realized the fruits of my efforts were completely pointless to my entire way of life. Without any sense of self, my deteriorating health accelerated and my body failed me.
As I lay dying, anxiety and fear overwhelmed me and I became aware of my being, function and passions once more. The pure ontological terror I experienced was necessary for me to truly accept being John D. Wicinas and provided me with the courage to face anxiety as part of my destiny.
No longer a somnambulist, I now seek vindication as a scholar, writer and adventurer. I am personally committed to making a significant contribution to knowledge and creativity. I take this responsibility very seriously. I have been knocked down and have taken beatings many times in my life and, except for the singular instance noted above, always rose to go another round. I guess I am just too ugly and stupid to know when to quit. At this point, someone will have to kill me to stop me.
I have also accepted the fact that I will die poor and alone one day, but that is fine by me as I will pass as a poor, lonely scholar, writer and noted adventurer.
